John Borkholder

Mr. Borkholder is chief financial and legal officer of Autobahn Therapeutics.

Mr. Borkholder has over 20 years of leadership in biopharmaceutical organizations, spanning public and private companies at all stages of growth. He is recognized for guiding organizations through fundraising, M&A, licensing, and strategic partnerships while building the legal, finance, and operational foundations that enable long-term success.  His expertise includes legal and strategic support of transactions, corporate governance, and financial, operations and administrative functions across organizations. Mr. Borkholder has played central roles in leading the structuring, negotiation and execution of global collaboration and licensing deals, as well as complex financing, M&A and tax transactions. Previously, he served as general counsel and secretary of Maxygen, Inc. and serves as a consultant and outside general counsel to early stage biotech companies in multiple industries and therapeutic areas. He obtained his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings School of Law and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
